This 1959 watercolor is what started my obsession with Dad's paintings. Many years ago it was a surprise gift to me that touched my heart in a profound way. This is the dock that was in front of our home on Bay Street. The dock I learned to fish on.The same dock I fell off of and almost drowned when I was a youngster. The woman on the dock can be none other than my Mother, Valli. That dock was washed away many years ago along with our family names that we had carved into it's weathered wood. What a treasure to have on my wall today. This is Vintage Southport! The way it really was back in the day.
